People choose cremation for a variety of reasons.  Some do so based on environmental considerations.  Others have philosophical or religious reasons.  Still others choose cremation because they feel it is simpler and less complicated.  Whatever the reason, we are here to help you with any questions you may have regarding cremation.

The traditional service for cremation is usually the service of choice.  At Hantge Funeral Chapels we believe in the traditional service , because it best serves the needs of the family and friends.  Services provided include professional services of a licensed funeral director; services of a licensed embalmer; services of a professional staff; use of the facility; transportation; cremation and other miscellaneous services (caskets and other merchandise are extra).  All funeral home service charges are itemized.  This allows a family to choose as elaborate or simple a service they desire and the costs will reflect that choice.  We have prepared a package to best serve you.  In most cases, the package prices are less than an itemized list of such services and supplies.

The traditional service is a meaningful expression for the family, and it gives the friends and associates an opportunity to offer their tribute in the way of flowers or monetary memorials to churches and/or organizations.

Generally, a service of remembrance is conducted by a clergyman of the family's choosing.  We encourage the active participation of the family in helping plan this part of the service.  Many times family members take part by giving a reading, singing or assisting the clergy.

If the ceremony is held in a church, there is no additional charge.  Nor is there an additional charge for arranging and conducting fraternal services.
