"Caring for the Special Needs of Our Community"
In 1999, a combined effort between the city of Hutchinson, Minnesota and the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapels helped remodel the chapel at Oakland Cemetery. The chapel, originally built in 1972, had become outdated and under-utilized. The project included a remodeled gathering/visitation room with restroom facilities, along with a sixteen foot expansion on the west end, including a new entry and office. The chapel has been used for Hospice Programs, funerals, visitations, funeral luncheons, and committal services. The chapel also hosts meetings of Grief Recovery Friends, and Compassionate Friends. Both are local support groups which offer strength and comfort to those who have experienced the death of a loved one.
