Service Information
Butch Henkelmann, age 71, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 5, 2016, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Tuesday.
Obituary
Henry “Butch” Harold Henkelmann was born on February 25, 1945, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Henry and Helen (Dvorak) Henkelmann. Henry was baptized as an infant on March 25, 1945, by Rev. Alf. Streufert and later was confirmed in his faith by Rev. A.H. Fellwock both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. He received his education in Glencoe, Minnesota, graduating with the Glencoe High School Class of 1963.
On February 7, 1980, Butch was united in marriage to Sherry Sue Mathews in Watertown, South Dakota. Butch and Sherry made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Kim, Grant, and Dustin. Butch and Sherry shared over 36 years of marriage.
Butch was a 3rd generation farmer/herdsman and loved farming. He was a fixture in the Glencoe area as he also hauled can milk to the old Glencoe Creamery for many local herdsmen for years. Butch later started Butch’s Masonry and enjoyed helping others with their mason work. He was a helpful neighbor and good friend to many. Butch was a lifelong member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Butch liked to play as hard as he worked. His passion was farming. Butch enjoyed fishing, hunting, wrestling and a good football game. One of Butch’s favorite memories was antelope hunting in Wyoming with his “boys”. He especially enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

Sister, Delores (nee Henkelmann) Reiner and her husband, Alan, of Hutchinson, MN;
Many Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Other relatives and friends.
Butch is preceded in death by his Parents, Henry and Helen Henkelmann; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Eldor and Mertle Mathews; Brothers-In-Law, Al Schmerbauch, Dean Mathews; Sister-In-Law, Carol Muchow; Niece, Stacie Muchow.
