Service Information
Lucille Lorson, age 80, of Waconia, formerly of Hector, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at New Perspective Senior Living in Waconia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector.
Interment will be held in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 7, 2017, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 P.M. Visitation will continue Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church for one hour prior to the service.
Obituary
Lucille Catherine Lorson was born August 10, 1936, in Hector Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the daughter of Harry and Alice (Boushka) Novotny. She grew up on the family farm north of Hector, and graduated from the Hector High School. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota, and received her Bachelor of Science degree with an undergraduate degree in Home Economics.
On January 31, 1959, Lucille was united in marriage to Vincent Lorson in Hector, Minnesota. Vincent’s work moved them to various places until they settled in Sterling, Illinois. Lucille enjoyed her role as wife, homemaker, and mother to their two children, Steve and Denise. In 2004, they returned to Hector, and resided at Prairie View. Vincent passed away on January 23, 2011. Lucille continued to live in Hector until moving into New Perspective Senior Living in Waconia a few years ago.
Lucille worked in the fabric industry. Sewing and quilting were favorite hobbies, and she loved collecting fabric. Working at various fabric shops helped complete her collection. Lucille was interested in the Arts, and she liked music, especially the Beatles. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and loved lemon meringue pie. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector.
On Tuesday morning, April 4, 2017, Lucille passed away at her home in New Perspective Senior Living in Waconia, having reached the age of 80 years. Blessed be her memory.
Lucille is survived by her:
Son, Steve Lorson, of Hector, Minnesota;
Daughter, Denise Lorson and her husband, Scott Chesna, of Salt Lake City, Utah;
Brother, Thomas Novotny, of Hector, Minnesota;
Sister, Marianne Hirscher and her husband, David, of Los Angeles, California;
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Lucille was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Vincent, and Brothers, Frederick and John.
