Aurelia Strei, age 91, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, died on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Glen Fields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Private Family Funeral Service was held.
Obituary
Aurelia Emma Ida (Lampher) Strei was born on May 17, 1927, in McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edwin and Lillian (Breyer) Lampher. Aurelia was baptized as an infant on June 5, 1927, by Pastor J. A. Schert at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 6, 1941, by Pastor E. H. Stahlke at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. She received her education in Lester Prairie, graduating with the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1946.
On September 9, 1946, Aurelia was united in marriage to John Strei by Pastor R. A. Ritz at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Aurelia and John made their home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Gary, Susan, Gordon and Shirley. Aurelia and John shared over 62 years of marriage until John passed away on December 16, 2008.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Aurelia worked as a nursing assistant at the Alice Haney Nursing Home in Lester Prairie, retiring in 1989. Aurelia was a faithful member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Aurelia enjoyed embroidering, playing cards, flowers, polka music and fishing. She treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Aurelia passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Glen Fields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 19 days.

Tom Strei and his wife, Kayla, of Champlin, MN,
Melissa Becker and her husband, Luke, of Mankato, MN,
Megan Antonson of St. Cloud, MN;
12 Great Grandchildren;
Nephews, Nieces, Other relatives and many friends.
Aurelia is preceded in death by her Parents, Edwin and Lillian Lampher; Husband, John Strei; Son, Gordon Strei.

Susan, Your Mom has a special place in my heart. I have so many memories…making pancakes in the kitchen, brushing her hair (She LOVED that!). She would embroider sheets and pillowcases. Every time I see a gladiola, I think of her. You were blessed to have her for your Mom. I do miss you. Love Mary
