Betty Exsted, age 87, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019, 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment at the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 15, 2019, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. A prayer service will be at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Saturday.

Obituary
Betty Jean “Jelly Bean” (Larson) Exsted was born on July 21, 1931, at her home in Stearns County, Eden Valley, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Sander and Harriet (Hickman) Larson. Betty Jean was baptized as an infant in August 1931, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on June 16, 1945, both at the Norwegian Bergen Lutheran Church in Bergen Township, Minnesota. She attended Glencoe High School in Glencoe, Minnesota. Betty furthered her education by attending Hutchinson Vocational School in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
On July 23, 1947, Betty was united in marriage to Donald Exsted at a Lutheran Church in Excelsior, Minnesota. Betty and Donald made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Collin, Sandra, David, Carl, Craig and Bert. Betty and Donald shared over 71 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Betty worked as a bookkeeper for 18 years for McLeod County Treasurer Lorraine Lindemann and for 16 years for the McLeod County Public Health Department. She retired in 1994. Betty was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Betty enjoyed playing cards, embroidering, crocheting, bead work and her bible study. She also loved to socialize with others. Betty treasured the time spent with her family and friends. She was known to many people of all ages as “Grandma Betty”.
Betty passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 22 days.

Mark and I met Betty when our daughter Sara married Nate Exsted. Betty was always so kind and positive, with those sparkling eyes, that made us just want to be around her. Thoughts and prayers to the family as they celebrate her life.

I first met Betty when I took a beginning crochet class with her and her sister-in-law. I have never laughed so hard as I did that evening. I didn’t learn how to crochet, but I sure became a fan of Betty’s. What a loving and beautiful person she was! I have been blessed to know Betty.
