Service Information
Carol L. Fiala, age 74, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 8, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota, with interment at a later date in the Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior the service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Obituary
Carol Lucille Fiala was born on August 22, 1944, in Litchfield, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Leander and Elinor (Schilling) Mundt. Carol was baptized as infant and confirmed in her faith, both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She received her education in Litchfield and was a graduate of the Litchfield High School Class of 1962. She furthered her education by attending Business School in Denver, Colorado.
On September 3, 1966, Carol was united in marriage to Raymond Fiala at St. Anthony Church in Falls Church, VA. This marriage was blessed with two children, Denise and Leanne. Carol and Raymond made their home in Manassas, VA, as well as Melbourne and Canberra, Australia, Bucharest, Romania, and Prague, Czechoslovakia. They moved to Minnesota in 1993 upon Raymond’s retirement from the Federal government.
Carol was employed as a cook at various places throughout her adult life, allowing her to share her love of cooking with others. Most recently, she worked at the Evergreen Apartments Senior Dining Site in Hutchinson. Carol was a member of the Red Hat Ladies.
Carol enjoyed bowling weekly with her bowling league, baking and cooking. She also loved to travel, especially on cruises. Carol loved to socialize and go out to lunch. She cherished her time spent with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Carol passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 74 years.

Niece, Jen Mundt of Montevideo, MN;
Nephews, Joe Mundt and his wife, Janelle, of Prior Lake, MN,
Zach Pieper and his wife, Emily, of Minneapolis, MN;
Former Spouse, Raymond Fiala of Hutchinson, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her Parents, Leander and Elinor Mundt; Brother, Donald Mundt; Sister, Marilyn Pieper.

Oh I love that picture of Carol….that is how I will remember her. Blessings to her family…I know how sad this is, but remember she is sitting at the right hand of her Lord and in no more pain. She will always remain in my heart. We shared memories from Sunday School in Litchfield and later through bowling and trips. Blessings to all.
