Clarence “Lance” Klapotz, age 81, of Hutchinson, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Dassel Lakeside Apartments in Dassel, Minnesota.
Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Interment will be held at a later date in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.
Military Honors by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.
Obituary
Clarence “Lance” Rheuben Klapotz was born on July 23, 1936, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of Otto and Emma (Otto) Klapotz. Lance grew up on a farm just North of Hutchinson and received his elementary education in a rural school house in Acoma Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. Lance graduated from the Hutchinson High School in 1954.
Lance entered active military service in the United States Army on November 26, 1961, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, and served his country during the Berlin Crisis. He Honorably Discharged on August 6, 1962 in Fort Lewis, Washington, and stayed with the Army Reserves until August 11, 1965. Lance achieved the rank of Specialist (SP4).
In 1961, Lance was united in marriage to Ina Louise Geske. This marriage was blessed with five children, Robert, Greg, Jonathan, Jason, and Danielle, who were raised on their family farm in Acoma Township, McLeod County, Minnesota.
Lance enjoyed dairy farming for Bongards Creameries and also crop farming. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, listening to Polka music, and playing his Concertina.
When Lance needed assistance with his daily care, he became a resident at Lakeside Apartments Assisted Living in Dassel on April 2, 2018. He passed away there on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the age of 81 years. Blessed be his memory.

Mary Klapotz of Glencoe, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Lance is preceded in death by his: Parents, Otto and Emma Klapotz; Brothers, John Klapotz, Alvin Klapotz, and Edwin Klapotz; Sisters, Leona Kohls, Alice Welch, and Marilyn Klapotz; other relatives and friends.
