Clyde Henning, age 91, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at The Harbor in Norwood Young America, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 10, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, with interment at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 10, 2016, from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M., two hours prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Clyde Ormin Henning was born on July 4, 1924, in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. He was the son of Erick and Anna (Hedtke) Henning. Clyde was baptized as an infant on July 20, 1924, by Rev. Arthur Spleiss at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 10, 1938, by Rev. E. Schwandt at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer, Minnesota. He received his education in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, graduating from Central High School. After graduation, Clyde entered the United States Navy on October 29, 1942, and proudly served his country as a Gunner’s Mate until he was honorably discharged on January 19, 1946.
On February 9, 1946, Clyde was united in marriage to Audrey Goetsch by Rev. W.F. Saver at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Clyde and Audrey made their home in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. Clyde and Audrey’s marriage was blessed with three children, Wanda, Chris and Tim. Clyde and Audrey shared over 54 years of marriage until Audrey passed away on February 26, 2000.
When Clyde needed assistance with his daily care, he became a resident of The Harbor in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. Special thanks goes out to The Harbor Manager, Laurie Hilgers, who is also a dear friend of the family, to Terry Ratter, The Harbor nurse, and all of the RA’s who not only assisted Clyde physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well.
Clyde was proud to work for NSP, now Xcel Energy, as a lineman for 36 years. He was a member at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. Clyde was also a member of the Norwood American Legion Post #343, a lifetime member of the Young America VFW Post #1783 and an Honorable Retiree member of the Norwood Fire Department.
Clyde enjoyed bowling and playing cards for many years. When asked how he was feeling, he would always comment “Still percolating!” Now he is percolating in heaven! He loved spending time with his friends and family.
Clyde passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at The Harbor in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 2 days.

Great Grandchildren, Aubrea & Claire Worm, Ashton, Payton & Evelyn Hecksel, Jordan Forar, Jackson & Jacey Wischnack, Bryton Henning, Henry Hoen;
Other relatives and many friends.
Clyde is preceded in death by his Parents, Erick and Anna Henning; Wife, Audrey Henning; Granddaughter, Wendy Wilson; 3 Infant Brothers, Father-In-Law, Herman Goetsch; Mother-In-Law, Gertrude Roe.
