Service Information
Dale Smith, age 55, of Hamburg, Minnesota, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 21, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment at a later date.
Memorials are preferred.
Obituary
Dale Anthony Smith was born on May 30, 1963, in Brainerd, Minnesota. He was the son of Vernon and Irene (Landwehr) Smith. Dale was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. He attended Central High School in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, and graduated in 1981. Dale furthered his education by attending Hutchinson Vo-Tech in Hutchinson, Minnesota, receiving a degree in Dairy Herd Management.
On September 12, 1987, Dale was united in marriage to Lisa Menden in Shakopee, Minnesota. Dale and Lisa made their home in Hamburg, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Wyatt and Austin. Dale and Lisa shared almost 31 years of marriage.
Dale was a lifelong dairy farmer and had a great passion for Jersey cattle. He was an active member of the Minnesota Jersey Cattle Association, where he served as the state President for many years. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and landscaping alongside Lisa. Family was a top priority and he enjoyed attending his boys’ sporting events. His love of family and friends was apparent in his daily activities. Dale’s family mantra was “We Are a Team!” Dale also had a great love and appreciation for the outdoors.
Dale was a faithful member of Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe. He was a very spiritual man of strong faith. Dale passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018, at the age of 55. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Blessed be his memory.

Brother-In-Law, Mike Menden of Eden Prairie, MN;
Nephews & Niece, David, Jonathon & Katie Thielen, Ryan & Brent Alling;
Other relatives and many friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his Mother, Irene Smith; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Ed and Helen Menden; Grandparents, Paul and Eulalia Landwehr, Charles and Hilda Smith; Brother-In-Law, Paul Menden.
