Dennis R. Nichols, age 70, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his home in Hutchinson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 17th, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson with interment in the St. Anastasia Catholic Church Cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour before the service at the chapel.
Military Honors by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.
Obituary
Dennis Richard Nichols was born on August 14, 1947, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the son of William Charles and Jean (Baier) Nichols. Dennis was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed as a youth in the Catholic Faith. He received his education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1965.
Dennis entered active military service in the United States Army on October 21, 1965, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served his country during the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge on October 20, 1968, in Annville, Pennsylvania. He achieved the rank of SP5.
Dennis lived in Hutchinson most of his life. He was employed at 3M in Hutchinson in the Quality Control Department for over 40 years. Dennis was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.
Dennis was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing. He was an avid pool player and he loved his dog Rickie. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Dennis passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his home in Hutchinson, at the age of 70 years. Blessed be his memory.

Dennis is preceded in death by his: Parents, William and Jean Nichols; Sister, Jacqueline Trettin; and Brother, Douglas Nichols.
