Elsie Kelly, age 93, of Hector, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center in Buffalo Lake.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector, with interment in the Church cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 9:30 A.M. to the time of service at 11:00 A.M., ALL at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector.
Obituary
Elsie Ann Kelly was born on January 4, 1923, in Hector Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert and Clara (Freyholtz) Kamrath. She was baptized as an infant on January 28, 1923 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, and was confirmed in her faith there on May 15, 1938. Elsie received her education at the Country School near Hector.
On September 27, 1942, Elsie was united in marriage to Stanley Kelly at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Arlys and Sheldon. Elsie and Stanley resided in rural Hector, and had shared 51 years of marriage when Stanley passed away on December 10, 1993.
Elsie was a busy farm wife. She was also employed as a nursing assistant at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, and the Renville County Hospital in Olivia. She retired in 1988. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector.
Elsie enjoyed gardening, embroidering, crocheting, animals, and baking chocolate chip cookies for her son. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
On Wednesday evening, March 2, 2016, Elsie passed away at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, having reached the age of 93 years. Blessed be her memory.

Daughter, Dr. Arlys Solien and her husband Jerry of Versailles, KY;
Son, Sheldon Kelly of Hector, MN;
Grandchildren, Jon-Ross Kelly of Hector, MN,
Justin Kelly of Moorhead, MN,
Kristen Solien of Versailles, KY;
Sister, Ruth Kenning of Hutchinson, MN;
many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Clara Kamrath, husband, Stanley, and nine siblings.
