Obituary
Florence Selma (Bettcher) Klaustermeier affectionately known as “Bobbie” by family and friends was born on February 18, 1931, at her parent’s home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ewald and Fernadena (Terlinden) Bettcher. Florence was baptized as an infant on March 15, 1931, by Rev. J.A. Schert and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 25, 1945, by Rev. Vomhof both at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. She received her education at District 10 country school through the 4th grade and then attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church parochial school in Lester Prairie through the 8th grade.
On March 16, 1951, Florence was united in marriage to Victor Klaustermeier by Rev. William Erb at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church parsonage in Lester Prairie. After Victor returned home from the Korean War, Florence and Victor made their first home on a farm in Waconia from 1953-1955. Then they moved to Lester Prairie to continue farming and raise registered Guernsey cattle. Florence and Victor’s marriage was blessed with two sons, Allen and Mark. They shared over 46 years of marriage until Victor passed away on October 18, 1997.
Florence was a loving farm wife, mother, homemaker and cleaned homes for the past 17 plus years until she was 87. In her younger years, she worked at Glencoe Hospital in the health field as a caretaker/nurse’s aide. Florence was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie where she was a member and volunteer of various church organizations.
Florence loved to spend time with her friends and family. She especially treasured taking her twin great grandsons on rides around the farm. Florence enjoyed traveling, needlework, playing cards, listening and dancing to old time music, going to fairs and fish fry’s and working outside in the barn and her garden. She was an awesome cook and baker with special recipes for potato salad and deviled eggs. Florence also loved showing Guernsey cattle at county, district and state fairs for over 50 years with her husband, Victor.
Florence passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Woodcrest of Country Manor in St. Joseph, Minnesota, at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 16 days.

My condolences to each of you. May your faith, family, friends and memories grant you comfort, peace and strength. Maybe our parents are playing cards, conversing and laughing in heaven just as they did years ago at our kitchen tables. Memories make them live on in our hearts forever.
