Obituary
Frank Ambrose Forcier was born on July 1, 1929, in Grafton Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. He was the son of Edward and Cecelia (Schilling) Forcier. Frank was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith, both at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart. He received his education at St. Boniface Catholic School and GI School in the Army.
Frank entered active military service on May 13, 1952, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received the Occupational Medal/National Defense Service Medal. Frank was Honorably Discharged on April 27, 1954.
On March 31, 1959, Frank was united in marriage to Georgia Richards at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Collins Township, McLeod County, Minnesota, for 25 years. Frank drove ready-mix truck for Rockite in Hutchinson, retiring in August of 1994. He was a farmer at heart and loved to share stories of his early days farming with teams of horses, steam engines and threshing machines. This union was blessed with six children. Frank and Georgia shared 58 years of marriage.
Frank was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart and a 53 year member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the American Legion for 62 years, the VFW, DAV, and a township board member. Frank was a founding member of the McLeod County Demo Derby and a member of the Stewart Ice Racing Club.
Frank enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards, gardening, and listening to old time music. He enjoyed camping at Codgers Cove RV Park and watching his kids play sports at Stewart High School.
