Obituary
Hazel Elizabeth Daniels was born on October 23, 1927, at their family farm in rural Hector, Renville County. She was the daughter of Karl Oscar and Jensine Christina Andrea (Christophersen) Christensen. Hazel was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at First Lutheran Church in Hector, Minnesota. She received her education at a Country School and at Hector High School.
On June 29, 1946, Hazel was united in marriage to Myron Daniels at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson by Pastor N.B. Hansen. This marriage was blessed with six children, Dennis, Gary, Bruce, Karen, David, and Karla. Hazel and Myron resided in the Stewart area, and later moved to Hutchinson. They shared 50 years of marriage together until Myron passed away on May 11, 1997.
Hazel was employed as a Nurse Aid at the Hutchinson Hospital for sixteen and one half years and was then a Nurse Aid at Burns Manor in Hutchinson for four and one half years. Hazel became employed at Cash Wise Foods in Hutchinson in 1992 and worked in the Meat Department for twenty five years. She loved working with her coworkers. She officially retired during her 90th birthday month, October 2017. Hazel was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Hazel enjoyed playing bingo and card games with family and friends. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, canning, and going camping. Hazel had a great love for her children and their families. Her highlight of the day was when they would come to visit. Her cross stitching, knitting, and crocheting gifts are now the family treasures.
When Hazel needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Harmony River Living Center on November 5, 2017. She passed away there on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at the age of 90 years.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. We send our sympathy to the Daniels family. I recall her working in the nursery at the hospital when I had my babies. She said to me before I delivered my baby….”I’ll have a pink blanket ready”. She was right two times in a row. Loved her.

My Deepest Sympathy! I worked with Hazel years ago and was very appreciative of her taking me under her wing and teaching me how to care for the elderly. I considered her my friend then and regret losing being in touch with her. Prayers and Hugs for her Family and Friends ?? Never Forgotten ?? Love, Patricia Hanson
