Service Information
Hazel M. Rux, age 102, of Farmington, Minnesota, formerly Cosmos, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, at her granddaughter’s home in Farmington.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota, with interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at a later date.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Hazel Matilda Rux was born on June 19, 1916, in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. She was the daughter of David and Lillian (Koeneke) Weseloh. Hazel was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth. She grew up on the family farm in Buffalo Lake. Hazel attended the Dascher School in Buffalo Lake.
On March 30, 1954, Hazel was united in marriage to Elmer Rux at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Gloria. Hazel and Elmer resided in Hector, Minnesota, before moving to Cosmos, Minnesota in 1977. They shared 46 years of marriage before the passing of Elmer in 2000.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos.
Hazel enjoyed gardening, mending clothes, word search puzzles, and bingo. She also enjoyed having coffee and treats with the neighbor ladies and friends. Hazel cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Hazel passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, at her granddaughter’s home in Farmington, Minnesota, at the age of 102 years. Blessed be her memory.

Hazel is preceded in death by her Parents, David and Lillian Weseloh; Husband, Elmer Rux; Sister, Esther Kamrath; Brothers, Lloyd Weseloh and Harry Weseloh; Son-In-Law, Pete Duerkop; Grandson-In-Law, Donald Bright.
