Service Information
James L. Markgraf, age 74, of Hector, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Buffalo Lake Health Care Center in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, October 5, 2018, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector, and will continue on Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, rural Stewart, Minnesota. Honors will be provided by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.

Obituary
James Leroy Markgraf was born on July 22, 1944, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, the son of Carl and Rose (Suppes) Markgraf. Jim was baptized as an infant, and later confirmed in his faith at Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart, Minnesota. Jim attended Saint Boniface Parochial School in Stewart and Buffalo Lake Public School. Jim served in the United States Army from August 26, 1965 through August 16, 1967, where he was stationed in Germany.
Jim was married to Darlyn Nass on March 3, 1973 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. This union was blessed with six children, Karine, Aaron, Darrin, Matthew, Andrew, and Michael.
Jim resided in rural Buffalo Lake, Boon Lake Township, where he helped his father farm, raise livestock, and worked as a mechanic. He eventually continued the family farm. He later resided in rural Hector, working at Raske Building Systems Inc. in Cosmos where he retired from. He could be found in his shop fixing cars or tractors. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, and now loved watching wildlife, especially deer, pheasants, and bald eagles. Jim was very proud of the gardens he had over the years, sharing produce with family and friends. He was a great friend to all who knew him and would do anything to help them. Jim’s grandchildren brought him great joy.

Daughter Karine Nordly (Aaron) of Mankato, and their children Jacob, and Jenna;
Son Aaron Markgraf (JoAnn) of Hector, and their children Payton, Allyson, Rylan, and Kaydrian;
Son Darrin Markgraf of Buffalo Lake;
Son Matthew Markgraf of Buffalo Lake, and his children Roselyn, Sophie, and Maggie;
Son Andrew Markgraf of Hector, and his children Hope, Marvin, Carl, and Raymond;
Son Michael Markgraf (Kymberly) of Buffalo Lake, and their children Michael Jr, Amelia, and Bailey;
Siblings:

Jim was preceded in death by his: Parents; twin infant Daughters; Brothers, Bruce and Gene Markgraf;
Brothers- in-law, Jerome Swenson and David Rosenau; and Sister-in-law Trisha Markgraf.
