Maynard Dammann, age 94, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday February 10, 2018, from 9:00-11:00 A.M., two hours prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Maynard Ellsworth Dammann was born on November 21, 1923, in Bergen Township, Minnesota. He was the son of Ewald and Martha (Voss) Dammann. Maynard was baptized as an infant on December 9, 1923, by Rev. Walter Baumhoefener and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 21, 1937, by Rev. J.A. Schert both at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. His confirmation verse was Psalm 143:10. He received his education in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, graduating with the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1941.
On September 2, 1945, Maynard was united in marriage to Mabel Lilly Martha Miller by Rev. R. Ehlen at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato. Maynard and Mabel made their home on a farm in rural Glencoe until 1982 when they moved to Lester Prairie, Minnesota. In June of 2014, Mabel and Maynard moved to Grand Meadows in Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with four daughters and one son, Jane, Laurie, Kathy, Marla and Maurice. Maynard and Mabel shared almost 70 years of marriage together until Mabel passed away on August 30, 2015.
Maynard was a farmer all of his life. He was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, where he served on the church boards. Maynard also served on the elevator board in Lester Prairie.
Maynard always had a positive disposition and was grateful for God’s blessings. He enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, fishing and traveling with Mabel. He cherished the time spent with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Maynard passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 6 days.
