Melvin “Mel” Jungclaus, age 86, of Glencoe, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Harmony River in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the Glencoe City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 19, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Tuesday.
Obituary
Melvin “Mel” George Jungclaus was born on September 8, 1931, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Alvin and Anna (Aul) Jungclaus. Melvin was baptized as an infant on October 18, 1931, by Rev. E. Klobe, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 7, 1944, by Rev. Alfred Struefert both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. He received his education in Glencoe, Minnesota, graduating with the Glencoe High School Class of 1948. Melvin entered active military service in the United States Army on July 9, 1952, and served his country in the Korean Conflict. He received an Honorable Discharge on June 19, 1954.
On February 5, 1955, Melvin was united in marriage to Sylvia Lange. Melvin and Sylvia made their home in Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Mark and Kirk. Melvin and Sylvia shared 63 years of marriage.
He was employed with Bullert Construction and Schlauderaff Implement. In 1971 he owned and operated Jungclaus Implement Inc. which was a farm machine implement dealer where he worked for 44 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Melvin was also a member of the Glencoe VFW Post #5102.
Melvin enjoyed shaking dice, playing cards, watching the Vikings and listening to Molly B. His passion was demonstrating and selling farm machinery. He treasured the time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and watching their sporting events.

Jordan Jungclaus and her special friend, Spencer Bauer, of Hamburg, MN,
Zachary Jungclaus of Fargo, ND;
Nieces, Nephews, Other family and many friends.
Melvin is preceded in death by his Parents, Alvin and Anna Jungclaus; Step-brother, Leroy Jungclaus; Step-sister, Marilyn Plaisance.
