Patsy Sims, age 77, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel.
Obituary
Patsy Marie Sims was born on April 18, 1941, in Kellogg, Idaho. She was the daughter of Donald and Marie (Derbyshire) Wilder. Patsy was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith. She received her education in St. Clair, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the St. Clair High School Class of 1959. She furthered her education at Mankato Technical College in Mankato, Minnesota, receiving an Electronics degree.
Patsy resided in Lake Crystal, Minnesota, Mankato, Minnesota, and later moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota, where she met Douglas Sims. On December 14, 1996, Patsy and Douglas were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marriage shared seven children, Naomi, Nathan, Nila, Niles, Nagal, David and Cory. Patsy and Douglas shared 22 years of marriage.
In her younger years, Patsy was employed as an Advocate at Cada House in Mankato. She was later employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Hilltop Nursing Home in Mankato. Patsy was most recently employed as a Systems Control Specialist at 3M in Hutchinson, where she retired in 2004.
Patsy enjoyed gardening, fishing sewing, camping, babysitting grandkids. She also loved to travel, especially to Oregon and Mexico. Patsy cherished her time spent with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Patsy passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 77 years.
