Philip Kloeckl, age 81, of Darwin, Husband of Theresa, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018, at his home in Darwin
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin
Visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service all at St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin.

Obituary
Philip Hilarion Kloeckl was born on July 28, 1936, in New Ulm, Minnesota. He was the son of Frank and Mary (Hillesheim) Kloeckl. Philip was baptized on August 2, 1936, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Searles, Minnesota, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He received his education at Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
Philip entered active military service in the United States Army on January 28, 1955, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, After receiving accolades for his prowess in national pistol competitions, he received an Honorable Discharge on September 17, 1958, at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina, and achieved the rank of Sergeant (Sgt), Airborne, Green Beret.
On September 29, 1962, Philip was united in marriage to Theresa Unterburger at St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin. This marriage was blessed with three children, Brad, Linda, and Terri. Philip and Theresa resided in Darwin and shared 55 years of marriage.
In the same year, Philip bought the shop in which he’d been working at for four years and established Phil’s Service. He eventually designed and built a new shop, where he whistled while he worked until retiring in 2002. He later dabbled at work for Crest Electronics, Inc. in Dassel, Minnesota and Innovex, Inc. in Litchfield, Minnesota.
Philip enjoyed stinky cheese and nuts, Junior Mints and brandy. He especially enjoyed playing Parcheesi with his family and grandchildren and poker with his garage friends.
Philip passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018, in his own living room in Darwin at the age of 81 years surrounded by people who loved him.

Sisters-In-Law, Mary Kloeckl, Marlene Kloeckl, and Audrey Kloeckl;
Many other relatives and friends.
Philip is preceded in death by his: Parents, Frank and Mary Kloeckl; 6 Brothers; and 6 Sisters.
