Obituary
Randall “Randy” Warren Wilson was born on January 29, 1945, in Worthington, Minnesota. He was the son of Warren and Lucille (Besser) Wilson. Randall was baptized as an infant on March 13, 1945, by Rev. Wm. H. Sutterer at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brewster, Minnesota, and was confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 10, 1959, by Rev. Theo. Krenzke at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, Minnesota. Randall received his education in Windom, Minnesota, graduating with the Windom High School Class of 1963. He entered active military service in the United States Army on September 20, 1965, and served his country during the Vietnam Era. Randall received an Honorable Discharge on September 5, 1967.
On November 23, 1968, Randy was united in marriage to Wanda Henning by Rev. R. Reith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. They made their home in Norwood Young America. Randy and Wanda’s marriage was blessed with two daughters, Candace and Wendy. They shared 50 wonderful years together, 49 of them in marriage.
Randy worked with his Dad at Wilson Electric from 1964-1977 at which time Randy took over the business and his Dad moved to Nevis, Minnesota. He was a member of the Norwood American Legion Post #343, the Young America VFW Post #1783 and served as a volunteer on the Norwood Fire Department for 9 years.
Through his early years, Randy had enjoyed playing cards, bowling, model trains and woodworking. He said that he always looked at a piece of wood as a challenge. Randy loved playing drums and often joked about how he went from playing drums in taverns and even a few pig barns, to playing drums for several years with the Valley Evangelical Free Church worship team in Chaska, Minnesota. Now he is drumming in heaven! Randy treasured the time visiting with family and friends, reminiscing the good times and how “we made it together” through the bad times.
