Viola Wurzberger, age 84, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Golden Hearts Assisted Living in Arlington, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 25, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota. Rosary will be at 4:00 P.M. with Parish Prayers at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Monday.
(Due to construction the church is accessible from the east on 11th Street. You may park in the Glencoe City Center parking lots or street parking on 11th Street. The east City Center parking lot is accessible from 11th and 12th Streets and the west City Center parking lot is accessible from 12th Street.)
Obituary
Viola Mae (Hamblin) Wurzberger was born on December 17, 1933, in Raymore, Missouri. She was the daughter of Karl and Jennie (Hennessey) Hamblin. Viola was baptized and confirmed in 1952 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota. She received her education thru the 8th grade in Nevis, Minnesota.
On November 6, 1954, Viola was united in marriage to Joseph Wurzberger at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota. Viola and Joseph made their home in Raymore, Missouri; Nevis, Glencoe and Arlington, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with seven children, Donald, Judith, Michael, David, Connie, Tammy and Tom. Viola and Joseph shared almost 30 years of marriage until Joseph passed away on October 10, 1984.
Viola worked at the Glencoe Hospital, Glencoe Drycleaners and Starkey Labs, where she retired. She was a faithful member at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe serving on the Council of Catholic Women.
Viola enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, gardening and crossword puzzles. She also loved watching the Minnesota Twins and dancing to old time music. Viola cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Viola passed away on June 19, 2018, at Golden Hearts Assisted Living in Arlington, Minnesota, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 2 days.
