Elmer Raduenz, age 81, of Plato, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, Minnesota.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the chapel on Wednesday.
Obituary
Elmer Arthur John Raduenz was born on May 11, 1937, at his parent’s home in New Auburn Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. He was the son of Arthur Henry John and Augusta Alvina Emilie (Kuhnau) Raduenz. Elmer was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 2, 1950, both at Zion Lutheran Church in New Auburn Township, Minnesota. His confirmation verse was II Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” Elmer received his education at a country school thru the 8th Grade.
On October 14, 1960, Elmer was united in marriage to Marlys Ahlbrecht at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato, Minnesota. Elmer and Marlys made their home in Plato, Minnesota. Their life was blessed with four daughters, Evon, Amy, Julie and Melisa. Elmer and Marlys shared 58 years of marriage.
Elmer worked at Plato Woodwork in Plato, Minnesota, for 25 years retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato. Elmer also was a member of the Plato Fire Department for 21 years.
Elmer enjoyed listening to old time music, camping, woodworking, playing cards, help farming, mowing the lawn and snow removal. Elmer loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elmer passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, Minnesota, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 17 days.

I have so many memories of Elmer helping us hold the farm together after my dad had his accident.
He taught Delila and I how to milk cows, bale & rake hay, harvest. Always patient. Never got angry at us.
He was a pillar of strength during that time.
