Service Information
Gary Davis, age 72, of Olivia, Minnesota, formerly Cosmos, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 4, 2020, 1:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector with interment in the Cosmos Community Cemetery in Cosmos.
Visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2020, from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector and will continue one hour prior to the service at the Chapel on Saturday.
Obituary
Gary Eldon Davis was born on November 29, 1947, in St. James, Minnesota. He was the son of Ray and Margaret (Malady) Davis. Gary was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth. Gary’s family moved to Cosmos, Minnesota in 1959, where he received his education. He was a graduate of the Cosmos High School in 1965.
Gary was a farmer who had a love for the land. He especially enjoyed raising cattle. He was also employed as a bartender at the Cosmos American Legion 126 and the Edge Bar & Grill in Cedar Mills, Minnesota. Gary was a member of the John Deere Two-Cylinder Club.
Gary was in an ATV accident in July of 2014. He was unable to return to the farm, he then moved to Fairview Place in Olivia, Minnesota. Gary enjoyed John Deere Tractors, the outdoors, welding, and being involved in the activities at the Fairview Place in Olivia, he especially liked Bingo. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Gary passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia, at the age of 72 years. Blessed be his memory.

Special Friends, Karen and LeRoy;
Many other relatives and friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his Parents, Ray and Margaret Davis; Brothers, Donald Davis and Richard Davis and his wife, Helen, Robert Davis and his wife, Arlys; and Gary’s Dogs, Dumbest, Tauser, and Lucky.
