Gerald Wischnack, age 82, of Green Isle, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Evangelical Reformed Church in Hamburg, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 23, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church, and will continue on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M., for one hour prior to the service, all at Church.

Obituary
Gerald Gilbert Wischnack was born on August 13, 1935, at his grandparent’s farm near New Germany, Minnesota. He was the son of Gilbert and Mildred (Will) Wischnack. Gerald was baptized as an infant on September 1, 1935 by Pastor Theodore Rolf and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 21, 1948 at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor JW Meyer.He received his education in Norwood, Minnesota, graduating with the Central High School Class of 1952. Gerald entered active military service in the United States Army on June 9, 1955, and received an Honorable Discharge on May 10, 1957, and then served in the Army Reserves until June 8, 1963.
On October 22, 1960, Gerald was united in marriage to Angeline Kroells at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. Gerald and Angeline made their home in Norwood Young America for a short time after marriage before moving to the farm in Green Isle, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Carol, Gerald Jr., Lori, Janine and Brian. Gerald and Angeline shared over 57 years of marriage.
Gerald worked in Carpentry most recently at Butler in Lester Prairie, he retired in 1997. He was an active member at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church, served as Commander or Senior Vice Commander of the VFW Post #1783 from 1975-1999 (except 3 of those years) and was also a member of Edward Born Legion Post #343.
Gerald enjoyed being outdoors, woodworking projects, fishing, playing cards, and watching westerns. Gerald treasured the time spent with his family and friends.
Gerald passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minnesota, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 8 days.
