Service Information
Joan J. Gaebe, age 95, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Nordland Lutheran Church in Paynesville, Minnesota, at 1:00 P.M. with interment in Burr Oak Cemetery in Meeker County, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service, from 12:00-1:00 P.M. at the church.
Arrangements are with the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Obituary
Joan J. Gaebe was born on April 2, 1924, in New Salem, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Herbert and Ella (Pyan) Jebb. Joan was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in New Salem and was a graduate of the New Salem High School with the class of 1942. She furthered her education at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On June 12, 1949, Joan was united in marriage to her life-long friend and childhood sweetheart, Milton “Mike” Gaebe in Duluth, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Lynn, Elizabeth, Philip, and Paul. Joan and Mike resided in Clara City, Minnesota for nearly 50 years. They had shared 49 years of marriage when Mike passed in 1997.
For a short time before starting her family, Joan was employed at the extension office in Fargo, North Dakota. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Joan was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City for many years. She later became a member of Nordland Lutheran Church in Paynesville, Minnesota.
Joan enjoyed bird watching, gardening, bridge club, quilting, and time at the lake. She especially enjoyed her time spent with family and friends.
Joan passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 95 years. Blessed be her memory.

7 Great-Grandchildren;
Siblings, Averial Hunt of Paynesville, MN,
Jacqueline Nelson and her husband, Kenneth, of Purcellville, VA,
William Jebb and his wife, Wynona of Cabot, AR;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Joan is preceded in death by her Parents, Herbert and Ella Jebb; Husband, Milton Gaebe; Sisters, Marion Jebb, and her husband, Clem, and Lillian Kuebker and her husband, Kenton; Brothers-In-Law, Gene Hunt and James Sonne; and Great-granddaughter, Lillian Scotting.
