Nancy Withers, age 75, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Augustana Lakeside Community Home in Dassel, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. at Saint Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with interment at the Church Cemetery.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Chapel.
Obituary
Nancy Ruth Withers was born on February 3, 1943, in Beloit, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Charles Mathews and Veronica Ruppert. Nancy was baptized as an infant on April 2, 1943, at St. Jude Parish in Beloit, Wisconsin and confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 24, 1955, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Bemidji, Minnesota. She was a graduate of the Bemidji High School Class of 1961.
On September 14, 1963, Nancy was united in marriage to Wayne Withers at First Congregational Church in Alexandria, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with five children, Jenny, Sharon, Susan, Bobby and Jill. In her younger years, Nancy resided in Bemidji, Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Osakis, Minnesota, Ellsworth, Wisconsin and the Long Prairie/Swanville, Minnesota area. Nancy has resided in Hutchinson, Minnesota for the past 30 years.
Nancy was employed as a Cook at Cash Wise in Hutchinson. Before marriage, Nancy was employed as a Secretary at General Mills, in the Media and Shows Department, where she had the chance to meet many movie stars. She also spent time working at the Laundromat in Hutchinson, as well as, The Underground in Hutchinson, as a cook. Nancy was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her cats, reading and working on crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Nancy was a loving mother.
Nancy passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Augustana Lakeside Community Home in Dassel, Minnesota, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 26 days.
