Shirley Frank, age 82, of Fairfax passed away Friday, July 31, 2020, at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 4, 2020, 10:00 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax with interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Obituary
Shirley Ann Frank was born October 8, 1937 in Morton, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Roland and Marcella (Schmidt) Fenske. She was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1955. Following high school, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Sleepy Eye Hospital and Fairfax Clinic.
On October 13, 1956, Shirley was united in marriage to Eddie Frank, Jr. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin. They spent most of their married life on the Frank family farm. They were blessed with two children, Douglas and Debra. Shirley and Eddie were married 58 years before Eddie passed away on June 16, 2015.
Shirley was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Fairfax Depot Museum and Fairfax Legion Auxiliary.
Shirley enjoyed her flowers, gardening, playing cards, quilting and sewing. She supervised many corn de-tasseling crews in the summer and drove school bus. Shirley was most proud of her family. She played an important part in her grandson’s lives. The arrival of her great granddaughter was the highlight of the year for her. Shirley was known for her red lip stick, jewelry and wearing a pin with every outfit.
In February, Shirley became a resident of the Fairfax Community Home. Even when her health declined, she maintained a strong spirit and quick wit! Shirley passed away there on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the age of 82 years.
Shirley is survived by her:
Daughter, Deb Loverude and her husband Kevin of New Ulm, MN;
Grandsons, Travis Loverude of Fairfax, MN, and Trent Loverude (Lacy Schugel) of Courtland, MN;
Great Granddaughter, Rowan Loverude;
Sister, Gretchen Ferrell and her husband, Charlie of Alamogordo, NM;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her Parents, Roland and Marcella Fenske; Husband Eddie Frank, Jr.; Son, Douglas Frank.
