Steven L. Kilian, age 71, husband of Janet of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Steven Leo Kilian was born on January 8, 1948, in Winona, Minnesota. He was the son of Leo John and Emma Gertrude (Lang) Kilian. Steve was baptized as an infant in 1948 in Winona, Minnesota, and was confirmed as a youth in 1962, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota. He received his education in Mankato and was a graduate of the Mankato High School Class of 1966. Steve furthered his education at Mankato State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree on July 16, 1971.
On June 13, 1970, Steve was united in marriage to Janet Aune at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato. This marriage was blessed with two children, Eric and Amy. Steve and Janet resided in Mankato until relocating to Hutchinson, Minnesota in July 1975. Steve and Janet shared 48 years of marriage.
Steve owned and operated Farmers Insurance, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was an active member of Masonic Lodge Temple 59, Crow River Shrine Club and Faith Lutheran Church. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing racquetball with friends. Steve always said his greatest joy in life was raising his children.
Steven passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 71 years.

Linda Groth and her spouse, Kenneth, of Roseville, MN;
Sister-In-Law, Patricia (Aune) Peasley of Hutchinson, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his Parents, Leo and Emma Kilian; Sister, Marilyn Barnard and her spouse, Charles.
