Vernon D. Anderson Jr., age 66, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on December 29, 2019, at Walt Home in Rochester.
Memorial Service will be Friday, January 3, 2020, 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Obituary
Vernon Duaine Anderson Jr. was born on February 24, 1953, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of Vernon and Elsie (Ohnemueller) Anderson Sr. Vernon was baptized as an infant in Cosmos, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. He received his education in Hutchinson and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1971. He was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson, spending the last year in Rochester.
On September 6, 1975, Vernon was united in marriage to Nancy Kliche. This union was blessed with one daughter, Alicia. They later divorced in 1995.
On August 17, 2005, Vernon was united in marriage to Karen Larsen. They shared 14 years of marriage.
Vernon was employed at the Suzuki Dealer in Hutchinson, but spent most of his career as a Coating Operator for 3M in Hutchinson.
Vernon was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Vernon enjoyed golfing, motorcycling, boating, traveling and attending rock and roll concerts. He cherished the time he spent with his family.
When he needed assistance with his daily care, Vernon became a resident of Walt Home in Rochester and passed away there on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at the age of 66 years.

Wife, Karen Anderson of Hutchinson, MN;
Children, Alicia Goodson and her husband, Dan of Rochester, MN;
Step-son, Mark Holm and his wife, Kellie of Woodville, WI;
Brother, Bob Anderson;
Cousins, Tina Vejrosta and her husband, Wayne, and Alice Swartzrock and her husband, Ken;
Many other relatives and friends.
Vernon was preceded in death by his Parents, Vern and Elsie Anderson; and Sister, Renae Anderson.

My condolences to Vern’s family and friends. Vern and I were classmates. The thing I remember about Vern is that over those school years Vern liked to talk and would make sure to give me a most enthusiastic greeting in the hallway. RIP Vern.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Vern for many years in the North Bldg. Compounding Area at 3M. Lots of fun, always had the latest “plant news”. He will be missed, but memories are forever!
